The Day-Free A5 Size is a monthly techo that is split into two main parts: monthly calendars and a graph-paper notebook. The book fits nicely into covers designed for the standard Hobonichi Techo Original book.

Because the book is half the size of the full-year Original, it’s also light and portable.

The monthly calendar is the same calendar you’ll find in the standard Original book, designed with graph paper to make it easy to use. The 2027 edition has calendars for December 2026 through March 2028.

  • Instead of dated daily pages, the Day-Free has 171 pages and is comprised of 3.7 mm squares. Pages are numbered, and there are characteristic Hobonichi quotes throughout.

    LAY-FLAT BINDING - The book features the same thread-stitch binding as a dictionary, allowing it to lay flat for comfortable writing. It stays open without the need to hold it down, and its design ensures durability, making it suitable for repeated opening and closing throughout the year.
