The much anticipated Sailor Seasonal Waka Poetry series is finally here!

This series is designated as an Overseas Exclusive, meaning these beautiful pens will not be made available for sale in Japan. Each pen is thoughtfully crafted from PMMA resin and features subtle Yuubi Maki-e work, with an ancient waka poem elegantly printed on the barrel.

Each Sailor Seasonal Waka Poetry pen represents a season and features a specific color theme, drawing inspiration from classic waka poetry found in the Kokin Wakashū (compiled in 905) or the Shin Kokin Wakashū (compiled 1205). Waka is a traditional Japanese poetry form that elegantly expresses nature and emotions. These poems often focus on themes like the changing seasons and love, using simple yet deeply meaningful words. Please note that the quoted poems below are English translations of the original Japanese text inscribed on the pens.

Spring:

Features gold IP trim and is inscribed with a waka by Ki no Tomonori: "It is a spring day with soft sunlight, yet why are the cherry blossoms so restless and falling?"

Summer:

Features silver (rhodium plating) trim and is inscribed with a waka by Ono no Komachi: "As I gaze at the stars shining in the sky before dawn on a summer night, each star fills me with a sense of nostalgia."

Autumn:

Features gold IP trim and is inscribed with a waka by Fujiwara no Michinaga: "On nights when the autumn leaves are falling and the gentle autumn wind blows, my heart suddenly feels wistful."

Winter:

Features silver (rhodium plating) trim and is inscribed with a waka by Fujiwara no Teika: "Snow piles up in a blanket of white, and the tracks left by cranes are quickly covered. As if hiding the truth, the snow falls silently from the mountaintops."
