The new Sailor Pro Gear Slim “Japanese Scenery” Series is here! In Japan, the ever-changing seasonal scenery—from the budding of cherry blossoms to the cold winter winds known as kogarashi—has long been cherished as fuubutsushi, poetic symbols of the seasons woven into everyday life.

This series is designated as an Overseas Exclusive, meaning these beautiful pens will not be made available for sale in Japan. Each pen is thoughtfully crafted from PMMA resin and features subtle Yuubi Maki-e work, with an ancient waka poem elegantly printed on the barrel.

Each pen in the series is a Sailor Professional Gear Slim with a 14K solid gold nib, available with Fine, Medium-Fine, and Medium nibs size options. The key differences lie in the barrel color and the delicate graphic that is subtly engraved onto the pen's body.

Hana-ikada:

Features gold IP trim. This pen features a soft, pale peach color, reminiscent of spring. The barrel is adorned with a graceful depiction of cherry petals drifting on water.

Nyudogumo:

Features silver (rhodium plating) trim. This design uses a clear, light sky blue, embodying the refreshing feeling of summer. It is subtly engraved with a graphic of a towering, fluffy summer cloud.

Tasogare:

Features gold IP trim. A bright, warm yellow/gold hue is used for this pen, reflecting the golden light of dusk. The graphic shows the quiet beauty of a field bathed in a golden sunset light

Kogarashi:

Features silver (rhodium plating) trim. This pen is characterized by a muted winter tone (as referenced by its theme) of a brownish gray color. It represents the strong early winter wind that strips the leaves from the trees, capturing the raw, crisp feeling of late autumn/early winter.

At the heart of this Japanese Scenery series is Sailor's famous 14K solid gold nib, renowned globally for its exceptional writing quality. The Tasogare and Hana-Ikada models feature a 14K gold nib (matching the gold trim), while the Nyudogumo and Kogarashi models feature a rhodium plated 14K gold nib (matching the silver trim). All four pens are available in the following Sailor nib sizes: F (Fine), MF (Medium-Fine), and M (Medium).

Sailor's Pro Gear Slim fountain pen is a comfortable mid-sized pen, small enough to fit in a pocket but long enough for comfortable everyday use. It's got a classic shape with a flat-top cap and a round barrel and grip, and comes with a converter and ink cartridges to get you started. Sailor makes their gold nibs in-house, and they're known for being exceptionally precise, with a unique feedback sensation.
