Our 10 x 12 photo album is handcrafted by Italian craftsmen in Florence.

This distressed leather photo album is for the person who wants an antique vintage feel. That means that the leather has been made to look older than it is and has markings on it to give it its unique styling. Scarring and inconsistencies in the leather are not defects but marks of character that give each piece its unique old world charm.

This is a leather photo album that will age beautifully with you.

Naturally, the album is completely archival and acid-free.

The leather color can vary from a warm honey brown to almost black. Use photo mounting corners or Glue Dots for Memory Books to attach your photos to the page. See Accessories for mounting options.

If you dislike plastic, or if you are looking for a more traditional album, you will probably be happiest with a scrapbook-style album. Most of our bound albums have 50 sheets, and you can use both sides, which means you have room in them for up to 100 8 1/2 x 11 documents, or as many as 400 4x6 photos.

A bound album has the pages already stitched into the cover, and they are fixed position. This means you will want to plan ahead a bit more, as the pages cannot be rearranged or added to.

The great thing about a 12x12 or larger album is that you have so much "blank page" to use for arranging your photos in a creative and fun way.

When the book is brand new, the pages may be slightly stiff. This is normal, and can be easily remedied by pressing the book open gently to "break in" the pages.

The 12x12 album will accomodate one 8x10 photo per page.

The open format allows you to experiment with layouts and arrangements for your photos. You can tilt photos, mix smaller and larger photos together on the page, it is very freeform.

In this arrangement, we have easily arranged four 4x6 photos on the page.

The Kolo Photo Tape gun or glue dots for memory books are an easy way to adhere your pictures to the page.

Positioning your photos on the page should be done carefully, but don't worry too much about getting the edges perfectly lined up. The fact that the photos are mounted by hand is part of its charm. Just "eyeball" the measurements, lining up the photo edge parallel to the page edge.

Glassine tissue between each sheet means you can use the front and back of each sheet. When the book is closed, your photos will not press against each other.

Personalize your photo album by adding an embossed name or phrase for only $12.00 per line. You can personalize your album with BLIND embossing on one or two lines, up to 20 characters and spaces each. To choose this option, fill in your personalization information above.

Your inscription will be positioned in the lower-right corner of the book. The font we use is Garamond, and the font size will vary depending on the number of characters you request.

Blind embossing uses heat to "brand" the letters into the leather. It is a subtle look where the letters are pressed into the leather. Your inscription will be pressed in and darker than the surrounding leather.
