This Handmade Italian Distressed Leather Journal is filled with Handmade Paper from the Amalfi Coast. The craftsmanship in the papermaking and binding represent the finest in Italian hand-bookbinding traditions.
Amalfi paper is completely made by the artisans in one of the world's oldest paper mills, on the Amalfi coast of Italy. Cotton fiber paper is heavily textures, airy and light with a watermark. The paper is white and has a very strong tooth, making it perfect for drawing, sketching, writing, or painting.
The leather color can vary from a warm honey brown to almost black. Each is unique and one-of-a-kind. Of course the book is acid free and archival so your memories will be preserved for generations to come.

This journal is a new item made to have a distressed vintage look. That means that the leather has been made to look older than it is and has markings on it to give it its unique styling. What is Amalfi Paper?It is pure over the top beauty. Sometimes of course, too much is just enough. ThatÍs why the more discriminating customer may choose to have any style of journal amply filled with handmade paper from the Amalfi Coast. It is our most premium paper available! It's texture thick with a very large tooth, and feels like fabric to the touch. Amalfi paper is made piece by piece by one of two paper mills left in the Amalfi Coast, Italy, near Naples. The sides of the pages have a torn look, and there every few pages you will find a watermark. We go further with hand stitched binding and fresh cream color pages. Amalfi paper makes every turn of the page something to be eagerly anticipated. What is the difference between Amalfi paper and hand-cut paper?This is an excellent question. Our Amalfi paper is completely made by the hands Amalfi artisans. It started out as cotton fibers and tiny wood chips and has been soaked, then pressed into the rich thick fabric like stock with our signature torn edge look. Often the pages are watermarked. They are white in color and have a very strong tooth or roughness, making them perfect for drawing, sketching, writing, painting, or attaching your own beautiful paper to the pages. Hand-cut paper is an Epica exclusive design of rich cream colored stock. It doesn't carry the lofty price of handmade Amalfi paper but still has that gorgeous uneven deckled edge that so many books used to have. Each page has been cut by hand to give it its unique look. The stock is thicker than most paper. It is almost like a very thin construction paper, but it's softer, smoother, creamier, and is our personal favorite to write on. Personalize your book by adding an embossed name or phrase for only $15 per line. You can personalize your book with embossing on one or two lines, up to 20 characters and spaces each. To choose this option, fill in your personalization information above. We recommend BLIND embossed lettering and your embossing will be positioned in the lower-right corner.
